- For use on carbon steel pipe conforming to the dimensional requirements of ASME B36.10 and the pipe standards ASTM A53, ASTM A106, ASTM A135 for sch 5 through 80
- For use on 6061-T6 aluminum pipe conforming to ASTM B241 for sch 40 only
- For use on pipe with a mill-type finish
- For use on pipe with a metal deposited coating not exceeding 0.005 in (0.13 mm), such as thermally diffused zinc, hot dipped galvanized, etc
- For use on pipe with latex paint with thickness not exceeding 0.005 in (0.13 mm)
